About
A job board for one county, run by one person.
CherokeeWorks exists because searching for work in Canton shouldn't mean wading through listings in Atlanta, Alpharetta and three states over — or through jobs that were filled months ago.
Every posting here is for work in Cherokee County: Canton, Woodstock, Holly Springs, Ball Ground, Waleska, Nelson, Mountain Park and the unincorporated stretches in between. Businesses submit their own listings, and each one is read before it appears.
That review step is the whole point. It's slower than an automated feed, and it means the board carries fewer listings than the big aggregators. It also means what you're reading is real, local and still open.
How review works
- Business profiles
- Checked once when created, and again whenever the public details change.
- Job listings
- Read in full before publishing. Declined listings come back with a note saying why.
- Applications
- Screened before the employer sees them, so nobody's hiring inbox fills with junk.
- Resumes
- Stored privately. An employer can only open a resume attached to an application that cleared review.
What gets turned down
- Roles with no actual work location in or near Cherokee County
- Commission-only "opportunities" dressed up as employment
- Listings that ask candidates to pay for training, kit or a background check
- Staffing-agency posts that won't name the actual worksite
- Anything that reads like a copy-paste from a national board
